Remember Why You Do It
Remind yourself that the hustle is worth it
If you work for yourself, you know what the struggle is like. Trying to get into a stride towards success takes time and you will stumble along the way. It's how you learn from failure that determines what you will do with your success.
I'm starting to feel like I'm reaching that stride: a steady tempo where everything around me is in sync with what I want out of life. And while business is taking off and my brand is growing, I still feel like something is missing.
I'll be honest: 2018 hasn't entirely started out the way I imagined it would. Professionally, I can say that everything is going great. I'm working with a new brand and helping to shape it from the ground up. I still have clients in New Orleans and I'm about to take on more. My work is allowing me to travel, connect with new people and my career is growing.
Personally, it's a different story.
I'll be honest: 2018 hasn't entirely started out the way I imagined it would
While professionally things are taking off this year, I've neglected on taking care of myself. I got distracted by people who pretended to care on what my goals were or what I wanted to share with them. I was investing time and energy into building relationships that weren't giving me anything back. I finally learned not to waste time on people or tings that don't alight with what I want out of life.
Finding balance in what you do professionally and what you want personally is what it takes to start enjoying what you work for. It's remembering what you sacrificed to get to where you are today.
I finally learned not to waste time on people or things that don't align with what I want out of life
It's reminding myself that the people I need will come when I need them.
It's reminding myself to take a break and enjoy what I've worked for.
It's reminding myself that the hustle is worth it.
