Find Your Role Model

We all have someone we look up to.

I woke up this morning to find out that one of my role models passed away. Anthony Bourdain was more than just a celebrity. He was real. His struggles, experiences and journey was something that I could relate to. Bourdain showed his audience a world that so many of us have yet to see. He pushed you to think beyond boundaries and step outside your comfort zone. This is how we learn to appreciate each other.

His story reassured me that I am doing the right thing. I don't need to have all the answers or be necessarily successful at the moment. With time, patience and persistence, I can be what I set out to be. He inspired me to step out of my comfort zone, trust myself and travel more. He taught me that it's ok to be open to new experiences, that the journey is not going to be easy but it is necessary.

Find your role model, whoever he or she might be. Be open to what they have to teach you and watch how they can inspire you. Always be open to step out of your comfort zone, try new ideas appreciate each day you have.

Thank you Anthony for sharing your story.

"I should’ve died in my 20s. I became successful in my 40s. I became a dad in my 50s. I feel like I’ve stolen a car –a really nice car– and I keep looking in the rearview mirror for flashing lights. But there’s been nothing yet." - Anthony Bourdain
